Purchase department is to  make   the   purchase  of  required  quantity  of  various items of  raw materials   at the  right  time with  standard  quality  at  the  most economical price. This department is directed by the production manager.

The following are the functions of purchase department.

1.      Receiving of purchase requisitions from various departments.

2.      Preparing a comparative statement of quotation of suppliers.

3.      Drafting of purchase order sending it to supplier.

4.      Passing purchase invoice for payment if everything is order.

5.      Place of raw material purchase.                              

PURCHASE OF RAW MATERIAL

      The raw materials required for the manufacturing of sambrani material from the raw material is available from various part of the district namely Madurai, Sivakasi, Chennai, etc., whenever supply is cheaper and quality is better ,the imported material s have long stable length and the materials are also available conditionally throughout the year.
